Situated next to the iconic Amsterdamse Poort in Haarlem, Ristorante Luca stands as a bastion of Mediterranean charm and cuisine. This well-established Italian eatery, operated by three generations of the Adamo family, brings the essence of Italy to the Netherlands.
It is slightly outside the city center, But it’s about a 5-minute walk if you cross the “Gravenstenenbrug” close to the Teyler museum. While the outside might not look inviting, the inside is the complete opposite.
This is my favorite. It’s close to where I live and has a casual, informal atmosphere.
The owner is Italian, And the bartender speaks mostly Italian. My favorite pizzas are the pepperoni and the margarita. But if you want a pasta tip: get the ravioli. Its white creamy sauce is really, really good!

Centporcento finds his origins in Calabria, Italia.
Located in a central location by the Grote Markt, the restaurant is a convenient spot for both locals and tourists. The setting is casual yet intimate, which is perfect for a range of occasions, whether it’s a romantic dinner or a laid-back meal with friends.
I like that is a pretty small restaurant. even though it’s on the Grote Markt, it doesn’t give me the cheap, touristy vibe.

Situated conveniently on Lange Veerstraat 17, which is a stone’s throw away from the bustling Grote Markt, Nolita offers a taste of Italian cuisine right in the heart of Haarlem. de Lange Veerstraat is a great street full of bars, and restaurants. In the warmer months, everybody stands outside having drinks.
The atmosphere of the place is cozy and inviting, perfect for a casual lunch or dinner in the city center. What catches my attention every time I visit is their menu – a delightful selection of pizzas that always seem to strike the right balance between traditional flavors and creative twists.
At Nolita, the pizza dough is thin and crispy, just as I like it, and the toppings are always fresh and flavorful.
The restaurant is split into two parts, if you make a reservation, try to be seated on the side where the bar is (left).

For those who prefer the eco-friendly option of arriving by bike, Haarlem is a city that accommodates cyclists very well, making it hassle-free to navigate to Jansstraat 44 on two wheels. If I’m exploring on foot, the central location of Pizzicotto allows for a pleasant stroll through the city’s charming streets.

This Italian Pizza Lab prides itself on its authentic Neapolitan pizza, which is a testament to its dedication to traditional Italian recipes. only a 5-minute walk from Central Station. The street itself is pretty quiet, which makes it feel like a restaurant for locals. My favorite pizza is the Calabrisella with San Marzano tomato sauce.
